The 7 Steps of Spiritual Self-Defense
Spiritual warfare is the unseen conflict between God’s truth and the enemy’s deception — a battle fought daily in our thoughts, choices, and hearts. As men of God, we’re not called to hide from it but to stand firm in it.
These seven steps teach us how to fight with spiritual clarity, disciplined obedience, and the authority of Christ — protecting our minds, those in our homes, strengthening our faith, and advancing the Kingdom together.

Step One
Acknowledge The Battle
We admit the reality of spiritual warfare: life’s struggles are not just flesh and blood, but an unseen fight for our souls.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world…” (Ephesians 6:12)

Step 2
Accept the Enemy & Our Equipment
We accept that we have an enemy—but we also believe God has given us armor and weapons that cannot fail.
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:11)

Step 3
Make the Decision to Fight in Christ’s Authority
We choose to step into the fight, not in our strength but in Christ’s authority.
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (Luke 10:19)

Step 4
Take Inventory – Truth vs. Lies
We examine our hearts, call out the lies we’ve believed, and stand on God’s truth.
“Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:40)

Step 5
Confess & Cleanse
We confess sin, repent, and refuse to let hidden shame keep us bound.
“Confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16)

Step 6
Purify Motives & Stand Clean
We fight with clean hearts and righteous motives, fueled by God’s love and truth.
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Step 7
Advance & Protect Others
We don’t just defend ourselves—we intercede for families, guard our communities, and advance the kingdom together.
“Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” (Psalm 82:4)
